NAMB commends the Board for its efforts to fix problems that exist in the mortgage market, however certain aspects of the Proposed Rule will impede competition, fail to reflect the most current and authoritative research, and/or do not consider the most effective and least burdensome alternatives.Read more
The National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) applauds the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) for its recent announcement to delay the Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (RESPA) Final Rule enforcement date by four months, to April 1, 2010. NAMB continues to work with HUD to clarify issues surrounding mortgage broker compliance with the new Good Faith Estimate (GFE) disclosure form.Read more
The National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) President Jim Pair has issued a letter to House Financial Services Committee member Rep. Walter Minnick (D) of Idaho to show support to vote for an amendment to HR 3126. HR 3126, better known as the Consumer Financial Protection Agency Act of 2009, was submitted by Reps.
