Calyx Software has announced that Peg Wolschon, Senior Corporate Event Manager, has received the RISE Award for Educational Programming from Meeting Professionals International (MPI). MPI represents a global community of 60,000 meeting and event professionals through its more than 90 chapters and clubs in 19 countries. Seven RISE (Recognizing Industry Success and Excellence) Awards in two categories—individual achievement and community achievement—were presented during the association’s 2017 World Education Congress in Las Vegas.

As head of the MPI Dallas/Fort Worth Mentor Program, Wolschon was presented with The RISE Award for Educational Programming. This Award recognizes chapters for advancement in education and professional development of its members through innovative programming with their respective mentoring and CMP education initiatives. Wolschon and her chapter were selected because they developed the MPI Dallas/Fort Worth Mentor Café, which provided opportunities for the exchange of ideas and knowledge, and allowed natural mentor/mentee relationships to develop. The Mentor Café’s more casual approach allowed members to network without commitment prior to each chapter meeting and have a topic to focus their discussions. Under Wolschon’s leadership, participation in the Mentor Café has more than doubled over the past two years.

“Peg is a vital part of the Calyx Software team and we are pleased to see her honored by MPI for her efforts to advance professional development through this mentor program,” said Bob Dougherty, Vice President of Business Development at Calyx Software. “This award is a testament to Peg’s ability to not only plan and coordinate events, but also to find new, creative ways to connect with people and build strong relationships.”
