Chief Information Officer Brian Woodring To Depart Rocket
Rocket confirmed Woodring's departing and that it's searching for its next technology leader.
Rocket Mortgage's Chief Information Officer, Brian Woodring, is leaving the company to explore new ventures. This move coincides with the lender's shift toward integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its business strategy.
Woodring initially joined Rocket in 2017 as the Chief Technology Officer, tasked with overseeing the product engineering team. Eventually, he became CIO and was responsible for devising strategies and overseeing the implementation of digital products, technology platforms, and data intelligence. With over two decades of experience in engineering and technology leadership, Woodring previously served at Black Knight, Inc. and ServiceLink.
A spokesperson from the company confirmed via email that Woodring had communicated his decision to depart Rocket Mortgage in pursuit of other opportunities. “Brian Woodring announced his decision to leave Rocket Mortgage to pursue other opportunities. He has been an integral part of the senior leadership team – contributing to our technology, innovation and the growth of our AI systems."
The spokesperson added, "Rocket is well into its search for the next world-class technology leader to continue the momentum of AI-fueled homeownership. Brian will be missed, and we wish him well in the next chapter of his career.“
The news comes the same week Rocket announced Rocket Logic, its patented AI-driven technology platform. Rocket claims the platform allows the company to close loans 2.5 times faster than the industry average and can identify nearly 70% of the more than 1.5 million documents received monthly.
Woodring's departing comes just a few weeks after Rocket president Tim Birkmeier announced his retirement after a nearly 28-year stint at the Michigan-headquartered lender.
