NAMB sells out!Doug AndersonNAMB 2004 convention,Salt Lake City If you are a wholesaler or other National Association of Mortgage Brokers affiliate and you would like to exhibit at the upcoming NAMB 2004 Annual Convention and Showcase, I regret to announce that we are sold out of booth space. However, we are negotiating for additional space with the Salt Lake City Convention Center to help our affiliate partners. Interestingly, our initial thought was that we might have a smaller turnout at the Convention because of the location, so we did not expand the floor space from last year's measurements in Baltimore. However, we have received such a warm response from all of our 2003 exhibitors that we are now projecting a larger turnout than NAMB has ever enjoyed in its 30-year history. Part of the problem (and it's a good problem to have) is that many of the exhibitors from the 2003 event have expanded the size of their booths; at this time, we have more than 200 exhibitors filling the same amount of space that was allocated in Baltimore last year. We at NAMB are most thankful for the industry's response to our 2004 Annual Convention, which guarantees that we are going to have the best Showcase that NAMB members have ever attended. What does this mean to you as mortgage brokers and loan originators? Last year, I picked up two new wholesalers and learned about several new products. I also began using a new credit bureau service that I have utilized throughout all of 2003 and I am very happy to support. This is one of the major differences between local trade shows in your state and NAMB's Annual Convention and Showcase. One of the benefits of being mortgage brokers is that we can easily adapt to change. We can pick up new products immediately, change the way we market and hit the street quickly with new technologies. When you attend the national trade show, you are always on the cutting-edge of the new products, technologies and ideas that move our industry forward and keep us ahead of our competition. If you are an exhibitor, be sure to get on our waiting list by calling NAMB Manager of Meetings and Exhibits Jason Petty at (703) 610-9009 or e-mail [email protected]. Remember, those exhibitors who participate in the 2004 Trade Show will have first right of refusal for exhibit space in 2005. You don't want to get shut out as NAMB continues "Racing to New Heights." Doug Anderson, CRMS is NAMB 2004 Convention Committee Chair and an NAMB Director. He may be reached by phone at (303) 744-8138 or e-mail [email protected].
