MBA's Courson applauds Bank of America's "clarity commitment"

Amherst Securities Group hires experienced mortgage sales team to bolsters its midwest presenceMortgagePress.comAmherst Securities Group LP, RMBS, MBS, asset-backed securities Amherst Securities Group LP, a broker-dealer specializing in residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), has announced that it has added a veteran team of mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and asset-backed securities (ABS) salespeople at its Chicago office, strengthening the firm's already extensive ability to provide critical analysis and trading solutions to clients. Ryan Mullaney, a former managing director at RBS Greenwich Capital whose career in MBS sales spans 24 years, has been appointed to manage the Chicago office. Joining him are Michael Brunso, Michael Carothers and Ryan Clinton, all of whom will work in sales beginning today and who also previously worked at RBS Greenwich Capital. In his new role as senior managing director, Mullaney will manage the new Chicago office, serving as the licensed general securities principal and working closely with Amherst's executive management team. For the past 15 years, he has held the position of Regional Sales Manager and Managing Director at RBS Greenwich and was responsible for opening and building the companys sales office in the Midwest. During his tenure, he strengthened the Midwest office's presence in MBS, ABS, CMBS, Agencies, Rates and Derivatives. Prior to working at RBS Greenwich, Mr. Mullaney worked at Merrill Lynch for nine years as Director and Head of the Midwest Bank and Thrift Sales group. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Michael Brunso, who joins Amherst as senior vice president in sales, was previously Managing Director of MBS/ABS sales at RBS Greenwich, where he sold mortgage-backed, asset-backed and commercial MBS for 13 years. Prior to that, Brunso worked at Merrill Lynch for ten years in MBS and ABS sales and held the position of director and head of the Total Return Mortgage Sales group. He received his MBA from Indiana University. Michael Carothers joins Amherst as senior vice president in sales. While at RBS Greenwich, he held the role of Managing Director in MBS and ABS Sales and covered top-tier money managers, commercial banks, FHLB's, insurance companies and hedge funds. Previously, Mr. Carothers worked in fixed-income sales at Merrill Lynch for 12 years. He earned his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Ryan Clinton joins Amherst as senior vice president in sales. He previously worked as a Managing Director specializing in structured product sales at RBS Greenwich for 13 years, where he covered institutional clients including banks, insurance companies and money managers from the Chicago regional office.
