GSF Mortgage has announced the addition of Vernette Nathan as branch manager in Chesapeake, Va. She joins TeamGO with more than 22 years of industry experience. Nathan is a retired Army veteran. Nathan was a member of the military for 17 years where she learned about entrepreneurship and human relations management. She held leadership positions such as commander and made Sergeant First Class after being in the U.S. Army for 11 years.  Nathan is a graduate from Strayer University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration; she is expected to receive her master’s degree in June 2015. She entered the mortgage industry due to an unfortunate experience while purchasing her second home. Not wanting anyone to have a negative experience, Nathan taught herself all of the mortgage guidelines. Today, she has a large customer base, along with real estate agents and financial advisors that instill their trust in her. She has a commitment to her clients to provide excellent customer service by providing them with the best product for their unique situation. Nathan assists military veterans with relocation, locally or internationally, and refinancing. She works with the Navy Morale Welfare and Recreation, which provides sailors and their families with the finest facilities, programs and activates to meet their recreational and social needs. “We are honored to welcome Vernette to our family," said GSF Mortgage National Sales Director Mike Maida. "With her military background, she is able to delve into a niche market and assist veterans and their families as they return from duty. Her expertise will be a substantial benefit to her customers and referral partners. She is a welcomed addition to our GSF family."
