Churchill Mortgage has announced Laura Fellman as its newest senior vice president of operations. Fellman brings more than 30 years of mortgage operations and process management expertise to Churchill. Previously, she served as chief operations officer for Guaranty Trust Company, where she was responsible for all facets of the loan origination process, including set-up, processing, underwriting, closing and post-closing. In addition, she assisted with the company’s loan servicing portfolio and worked closely with the compliance department on state regulatory requirements and vendor oversight. Fellman also partnered with housing finance agencies and investors in multiple states to provide additional resources to customers, helping the bank close more than $1 billion in annual volume. Prior to Guaranty Trust, Fellman served as senior vice president and production manager for Magna Bank in Nashville, Tenn. In her role, she oversaw all operations, including marketing, budgeting, development and growth for the Middle Tennessee region, while also managing the development and training processes of all personnel in eight local offices. Before joining Manga Bank, Fellman was chief program officer for the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, where she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the state’s Affordable Housing Programs. Leading a team of more than 170 employees, she worked with Fannie Mae, the Federal Housing Administration and private mortgage insurance organizations to develop housing initiatives for low- to moderate-income households. Her oversight included the Single Family Tax Exempt Mortgage Revenue Bond Program (including a $2.1 billion servicing portfolio with 26,000 loans), the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program, the Multifamily Tax Exempt Bond program, the Housing Trust Fund Program, the Emergency Shelter Grant Program, the Housing Modification and Ramps Program, the U.S. Treasury Hardest Hit Fund Program and many others. Fellman also previously served as operations manager for Columbia National Mortgage. “The future success of our company is made possible by leveraging today’s brightest and most experienced mortgage professionals,” said Mike Hardwick, president of Churchill Mortgage. “Laura is a visionary leader and her impressive record of developing and implementing successful initiatives at nearly every level demonstrates an advanced understanding of the industry. Her addition significantly strengthens our business and provides a foundation for continued growth.”
