MBA's PAC Honors the Work of David Motley
The Mortgage Bankers Political Action Committee (MORPAC) has awarded David Motley, CMB, president of Colonial National Mortgage, with the 2014 Schumacher-Bolduc Award. The Award was given to Motley in recognition of his outstanding work on behalf of the committee and the mortgage lending industry.
“Dave has proven to be an invaluable component to the growth of MORPAC,” said MORPAC Chairman Kurt Pfotenhauer. “His tireless fundraising efforts and strong commitment to the advocacy of the real estate finance industry have made for an incredibly successful year.”
The Award is named in honor of two of the most distinguished professionals in MORPAC’s history: Ernest P. Schumacher, founder and first Chairman of MORPAC and Mark P. Bolduc, whose exemplary service as MORPAC Director helped the PAC to become the political force it is today.
As the chairman of the Residential Board of Governors the past two years, Motley has made RESBOG fundraising for MORPAC a priority of his board. In 2013, he led RESBOG in raising nearly $100,000 for the PAC and achieved nearly 90 percent participation. He is expecting to attain even better results in 2014. Motley has been a top MORPAC donor for the last several years and ensures that his own company sends a bi-weekly payroll deduction contribution to the PAC.
Outside of MORPAC, Motley has spent several years as a dedicated leader within MBA. He has worked with the association’s advocacy programs as a member of the Board of Directors and has also served on a variety of MBA policy committees and working groups. Additionally, he is an active member of the Mortgage Action Alliance, a voluntary, non-partisan group affiliated with MBA whose goal is to strengthen the mortgage industry’s voice in Washington, D.C.
