United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) has announced the appointment of Justin Glass to the position of chief digital officer (CDO). The newly created position is another signal of the company's focus on innovation and unparalleled client service experiences.

"There's no question that technology will continue to have a seismic impact on the way we conduct business and the future of the industry," said Mat Ishbia, president and CEO of United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM). "At UWM, we have recognized this and have made it a priority to establish ourselves on the leading edge of innovation and are now taking this a step further. Justin Glass will lead the way as we accelerate our digital and technology investments."

The creation of the chief digital officer role adds to UWM’s reputation as a trendsetter in the mortgage industry, following the launch of UMobile, an award-winning mobile app that updates live and allows users to lock loans on-the-go.  The company will also unveil its new EASE transactional system in the next few weeks, which will set a new industry standard for mortgage lending.

Glass, an eight-year veteran of UWM who most recently served as SVP of business development, will have responsibility for UWM’s digital innovation and core digital platforms, including web, mobile, CRM, loan transaction system, as well as future digital innovation. Glass currently sits on PROGRESS in Lending Association’s “Lender Advisory Board,” which is comprised of a group of leading business-savvy and technology-savvy lenders.
