Thirty-Year Fixed-Rates Continue to Remain at 20-Month Lows
The 30-year fixed mortgage rate on Zillow Mortgages is currently 3.58 percent, unchanged from this time last week. The 30-year fixed mortgage rate hovered between3.58 and 3.83 percent before settling at the current rate.
"Rates were on a roller coaster last week, but settled roughly where they started, holding near 20-month lows," said Erin Lantz, vice president of mortgages at Zillow. "U.S. domestic data are expected to play a prominent role this week with Wednesday's Federal Open Market Committee statement and Friday's GDP report, but international news could still drive markets. Overall, we expect rates to remain flat over the next week."
Zillow's real-time mortgage rates are based on thousands of custom mortgage quotes submitted daily to anonymous borrowers on the Zillow Mortgages site, and reflect the most recent changes in the market. These are not marketing rates, or a weekly survey.
The rate for a 15-year fixed home loan is currently 2.94 percent, while the rate for a 5-1 adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) is 2.95 percent.
