Guild Mortgage Opens New California Branch
Guild Mortgage Company has announced the opening of a new branch inn Carlsbad, Calif. as part of the company's continued expansion throughout the West. Michael Phillips, who has more than 20 years experience in both loan origination and management, will lead the Carlsbad branch as manager. Prior to joining Guild, Phillips worked for Mutual of Omaha Bank as the market manager for Hawaii and Del Mar, Calif.
The branch opening coincides with Guild's recent launch of the exclusive Elite Jumbo Program, the cornerstone of the company’s push for market share in higher end Calif. real estate markets. The program allows loan officers in the Carlsbad office to originate mortgage loans up to $3 million with low down payment options available for customers.
“We envision continued growth in Carlsbad and throughout the north county,” said Phillips. “To support that growth, Guild offers programs that other lenders don't, such as jumbo loans. It also has decades of experience in helping first-time homebuyers. We are looking forward to building on that expertise and making the high-end home buying process faster, smoother and more efficient for Carlsbad customers.”
Also joining the Carlsbad team from Mutual of Omaha Bank is top-performing loan officer Susan Stotler. She specializes in jumbo and construction lending, catering to the high-end construction market. She produced $89.37 million in loans in 2013, and was the top producer in 2014 at Mutual of Omaha Bank, with over $64 million in 10 months before joining Guild.
"I joined Guild Mortgage because they have been successful for more than 50 years and developed an unmatched culture of customer service in the process,” said Stotler. “As an independent, Guild has the ability to conduct underwriting, processing and funding locally, which makes the home loan process so much faster and simpler for borrowers."
