Mike Wheeler Joins Academy Mortgage to Lead Sacramento Area Expansion

Mike Wheeler has joined Academy Mortgage as district manager where he will help lead the growth in loan officers and branches in the company’s North Valley District, which encompasses the Sacramento, Calif. area.

“Mike Wheeler brings to Academy a tremendous expertise in recruiting and retaining top-performing loan officers,” said Academy Mortgage Divisional Manager Kriss Bates. “Mike is dedicated to training, coaching and developing salespeople and teams to their highest level.”

Wheeler has a vast knowledge of the mortgage business and the Northern California marketplace. Over the past seven years, he has consulted mortgage lenders and Fortune 500 companies on leadership, organizational structure and sales personnel development as owner of MJW Consulting.

Simultaneously during this time, he served as vice president of production at Vitek Mortgage Group, and senior vice president and northwest regional manager at Prospect Mortgage. Prior to this, Wheeler was vice president and northern California/Nevada district manager for National City Mortgage for nearly nine years.
