Dallas-based residential mortgage originator PrimeLending, a PlainsCapital, has announced that Mike Watkinson has joined the company as regional manager for the Northeast region. Watkinson brings a proven track record of leadership to PrimeLending, with more than 25 years of experience in the home loan industry. Previously, he served as senior vice president at Embrace Home Loans, regional sales executive for Bank of America, district manager for National City Mortgage, and state manager/private mortgage banking for Citizens Bank.

"Having Mike on our team is a huge win for PrimeLending," said Gene Lugat, executive vice president of the Eastern Division at PrimeLending. "Mike is known for his inspiring brand of leadership that includes enthusiasm, creativity and commitment to excellence. I know he will bring out the best in our Northeast Region."

Since 1986, PrimeLending has grown from a company of 20 to an award-winning mortgage lender more than 2,500 strong.

"After meeting and getting to know the executives at PrimeLending, and witnessing the company's dedication to its people and customers, choosing PrimeLending was an easy decision," said Watkinson.
