Gateway Mortgage Group has announced the addition of Barbara Niedt as a new regional sales manager of Correspondent Lending to serve the Colorado, Utah and Wyoming markets.

“Throughout my career, I have gained a solid understanding of the many aspects of mortgage lending and its secondary market,” Niedt said. “Gateway is expanding its presence in several key markets and I look forward to contributing to their portfolio growth.”

Niedt brings more than 25 years of mortgage industry experience with her to Gateway. She previously worked as vice president for Phoenix Capital Inc. where she provided mortgage servicing rights (MSR) and advisory services to mortgage executives for the strategic management of sales and bulk MSR portfolios. Niedt also worked as a senior account executive with Countrywide Correspondent Lending, and has worked with several other regional banks and mortgage companies. She began her career with Citicorp Mortgage in St. Louis where she was responsible for hedging the mortgage pipeline and trading mortgage backed securities for seven years.

“Barbara is a well-established mortgage professional with a wealth of knowledge in the secondary market, and we feel confident that she will be a great fit for our continued expansion,” said Scott Henley, senior vice president, Gateway Mortgage Group—Correspondent Lending Division. “We believe hiring great talent is vital to our success and Barbara will directly impact our ability to provide customers with a great lending experience.”
