A real estate broker in Florida has offered to donate 10 percent of her commission on a luxury residential property to relief efforts designed to assist the victims of last week’s terrorist attacks in Paris.

According to a WPBF.com report, Maxie Kaan-Lilly of Mizner Grande Realty has chosen a $1.25 million four-bedroom house on Hypoluxo Island in Manalapan, Fla., as the source for her philanthropic altruism.

Kaan-Lilly said she was deeply moved by the response of the Parisian people to make her own statement of solidarity.

“People had signs that say, ‘We are not afraid,’” Kaan-Lilly said. “It just gave me the chills, you know?”

Although she did not say what her commission on the sale would be or how much she expected to donate, Kaan-Lilly challenged buyers and real estate brokers in her market to follow the example she is doing.

“We have so many talented realtors in south Florida,” Kaan-Lilly said. “We could really make a difference.”
