New Research Foundation Focuses on Multifamily Issues

Aug 18, 2016
The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) has announced that it is charging the owner of a Springfield, Mass. rental property with violating the Fair Housing Act

The National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) has raised more than $2.25 million to launch a new foundation focused on researching issues related to the multifamily sector.

The NMHC Research Foundation will address issues including development and redevelopment activity, housing affordability, demographics, tax policy, zoning and land use. Funding for the foundation included $500,000 donations from Weidner Apartment Homes and RealPage, with the latter also offer the foundation access to its databases and analytical capabilities.

“As the multifamily industry grows in sophistication, so must the quality and breadth of our analysis,” said NMHC President and CEO Doug Bibby. “The NMHC Research Foundation ensures that we’re able to continue providing leading, actionable information for the apartment market and support our member businesses.”

More information about the NMHC Research Foundation, including how to donate, is available at .
