One of the nation’s most prominent financial services trade group is starting the New Year with a new name

One of the nation’s most prominent financial services trade group is starting the New Year with a new name.

Beginning on Jan. 1, the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) will become the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions. The change was made to reflect the amending of the association’s articles of incorporation that provides federally-insured, state-chartered members with full membership and the ability to serve on the board of directors. However, the association will retain the NAFCU logo and acronym will stay the same.

“While our name change reflects our mission to serve all federally-insured credit unions, our focus remains the same,” said NAFCU Chair Richard L. Harris, president and CEO of Caltech Employees Federal Credit Union. “We remain committed to providing the best in advocacy, education and compliance assistance at the federal level.”
