Under his leadership, NAHREP launched the Hispanic Wealth Project, a non-profit focused on increasing Latino household wealth.
In 2025, Gary co-founded AVANCE Global, an event platform highlighting Latino leadership and culture, with media entrepreneur and bestselling author Nely Galán. AVANCE Global builds on L’ATTITUDE, the acclaimed event he co-founded with Sol Trujillo, former United Airlines CEO Oscar Muñoz, and music icon Emilio Estefan.
Gary also founded AVANCE Sports and the National Hispanic Construction Alliance (NHCA), which promote Latino advancement in sports and construction. He is a founding partner of L’ATTITUDE Ventures, the largest U.S. venture capital fund investing exclusively in Latino-led startups.
He has launched and led companies in real estate, mortgage, and technology, including New Vista Asset Management, CounselorMax, and RealEstateEspanol.com. He also co-founded The Mortgage Collaborative, a network of 200+ mortgage companies.
Gary served on the Consumer Advisory Board of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and advisory boards for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and JP Morgan Chase. He currently serves on the boards of NAHREP and BaseCap Analytics.

A California native, Gary grew up in Montebello and attended UC San Diego and Pomona College, where he played varsity basketball under Hall of Fame coach Gregg Popovich. He lives in San Diego with his family.
