The U.S. Federal Reserve Board has named National Association of
Mortgage Brokers Past President and current Legislative Committee
Chair Joseph Falk as a new member of its Consumer Advisory Council.
The Council, which meets three times annually in Washington, D.C.,
advises the Federal Reserve Board on important policy issues
related to consumer financial services. Falk will serve a
three-year term on the Council.
"I am honored to be chosen for this position and look forward to
helping the Federal Reserve Board make appropriate decisions that
protect consumers and allow our country's thriving financial
markets to remain strong," said Falk.
As a licensed mortgage broker, Falk has testified before the
Federal Reserve Board on numerous occasions about issues related to
home buying and the mortgage industry. He is currently a consultant
with the law firm of Akerman Senterfitt, where he serves as an
expert on lending, brokering, insurance and other business issues.
He also has often testified on financial issues before Congress and
was the 2006 recipient of NAMB's Leadership Award. He has been a
member of NAMB's Board of Directors since 1995.
Falk is one of 10 new members who were added to the Consumer
Advisory Council. The Council was created to advise the Federal
Reserve Board on its responsibilities under the Consumer Credit
Protection Act.
