NAMB issues call-to-action in support of HR 3221, the American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008MortgagePress.comNAMB, HR 3221, the American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008, John Ensign On July 9, the National Association of Mortgage Brokers issued a Call-to-Action requesting that members contact their senators and ask them to support HR 3221, the American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008, without amendments that would create exemptions to the all originator licensure and registration provision in the bill. The bill is expected to come up for a vote before the full Senate Thursday morning. It has already passed a cloture vote despite several parliamentary moves by Sen. John Ensign (R-NV), who is attempting to attach an amendment that would extend several expiring renewable-energy tax breaks without any offsetting revenue-raisers. The measure is expected to pass the Senate and be sent back to the House. For more information on HR 3221 and to follow the process as this bill moves between the House and the Senate, click here.
