Loan-Score Appoints David Colwell Executive Vice PresidentMortgagePress.comLoan-Score Decisioning Systems, financial services, residential lending markets Loan-Score Decisioning Systems, an enterprise-class pricing and automated underwriting solutions provider, announced that it has named David Colwell executive vice president. The position is a newly created role that will focus heavily on developing the compan's long term business strategy. Previously, Colwell was Loan-Score's senior vice president of solutions, but has stepped into the new role to help guide the company through a recent growth mode. Colwell brings more than 20 years of financial services experience to the position and will be focused on strategically expanding the company in the consumer finance and residential lending markets. Before Loan-Score, David was the senior executive of strategic solutions for Portellus, a loan origination system and business rules management provider. Prior to Portellus, David was the managing director at Provision, a financial services consulting and CPA firm focused on business services, coaching, value creation, wealth/tax strategy and compliance. David was also a vice president at Mortgage Cadence where he was focused on strategic business development. Prior to that, he was the managing partner of SDDC Group, a financial services consulting firm focused on planning, technology enablement and operations improvement, where he managed various engagements with top 25 mortgage bankers. In addition, Colwell was also the CEO of United Capital Mortgage Corporation, a correspondent lender with over 300 employees. Before United Capital, Colwell was a director at Cap Gemini & Gemini Consulting, vice president of corporate finance at Peakcok, Hislop, Staley & Given, and a senior auditor with Arthur Andersen. "I am excited about developing and executing Loan-Score's strategic plan to become the leader in web-based pricing and underwriting solutions," commented Colwell. "I've worked with lots of technology solutions throughout my career in financial services, and have seen some of the best and worst platforms. Our development team has engineered what I believe to be the most configurable, sophisticated and powerful enterprise-class decisioning solution on the market today. There are a number of vendors that purport to have true automated underwriting capability, but most of these systems are light on credit analytics, thus affecting profitability and allowing for increased exposure to risk." Colwell holds a B.S. in business administration with a concentration in accounting and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from Arizona State University.
