The southwest region is part of Old Republic's Central Division, and is managed by Mark Bilbrey, executive vice president. "John is well-known and has respected senior management skills, along with a wealth of contacts," states Dan Hassen, senior vice president. "We are excited to have him join our team." Magness is a longtime resident of the Houston area where, over the years, he has developed significant business relationships and contacts. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Houston and is a member of many professional organizations. Magness began his career by owning and operating his own commercial and residential real estate brokerage firm. He eventually made the transition to working exclusively in title insurance. Most recently, he had a long and successful career working for another major underwriter.
