MBA's Kittle comments on House passage of the Helping Families Save Their Homes ActMortgagePress.comMBA, David G. Kittle, Mortgage Bankers Association, HR 1106, Helping Families Save Their Homes Act, Hope for Homeowners David G. Kittle, CMB, chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), has issued the following statement after the House passed HR 1106, the Helping Families Save Their Homes Act. "We applaud the House for the improvements to the Hope for Homeowners program and other sensible provisions, but we are disappointed that they have voted to pass this bill with bankruptcy reform that, if enacted, will increase costs on consumers and further destabilize the mortgage and housing markets. That being said, we are pleased that House moved to limit the harm this bill will do to consumers, and we want to work with the Senate to further contain the damage."
