Appraisal Institute hires Zimmermann as CFO

The Appraisal Institute, the nation’s largest real estate appraisal organization, has announced the hiring of William T. Zimmermann as chief financial officer. Zimmermann will begin his duties Aug. 3. and will report to Chief Executive Officer Frederick H. Grubbe. A certified public accountant, Zimmermann is a graduate of DePaul University. “We look forward to benefitting from Bill’s years of not-for-profit financial management experience at a pivotal point in our organization’s history,” Grubbe said. Zimmermann spent six years as chief financial officer of the American Dental Association. During that same time period, he also served as chief executive officer of ADA Business Enterprises, Inc., a wholly owned for-profit subsidiary of the ADA. He also worked 16 years at the American Medical Association, including nine years as chief financial officer and vice president, financial services and real estate.
