MountainView announces expansion of its institutional fixed-income platform

Aug 09, 2010

MountainView Capital Holdings LLC, a provider of solutions for mortgage and capital market participants, has announced the acquisition of Capmark Securities Inc. and the hiring of a seasoned team of fixed-income professionals from Madison Williams and Company LLC. The acquisition and key hires broaden the capabilities of MountainView Securities LLC in mortgage pipeline hedging and trading of fixed-income securities, including mortgage-backed securities (MBS). "We have a longstanding commitment to offer comprehensive and high-quality services to institutional participants in the dynamic mortgage and fixed income capital markets," said Michael Morgan, chief executive officer at MountainView Capital Holdings. "With the acquisition, key hires and new offerings for MountainView Securities, we continue to build on our commitment." According to Morgan, the acquisition of Capmark Securities, which was renamed MountainView Securities, brings extensive mortgage-related fixed income experience. In the 1990s, Capmark Securities further developed its expertise in trading commercial mortgage-backed securities, Ginnie Mae project loans and Fannie Mae Delegated Underwriting and Servicing securities. In addition to providing institutional fixed income trading, MountainView Securities is now offering trading and hedging lines to loan originators in the mortgage banking industry. The new team from Madison Williams believes pipeline hedging will continue to be a growing service segment in the mortgage market. "Having worked together since 2002, my team is excited to establish its presence under the MountainView Securities name and introduce our offerings to MountainView's clients," said William Sias, managing director of fixed-income sales at MountainView Securities. The team of key hires includes Ansel Eshelman, managing director and head of fixed-income trading; William Sias, managing director of fixed-income sales; Robert Fuchs, senior vice president of fixed-income sales; David Senich, senior vice president of fixed-income sales; Scott McGowan, managing director of fixed-income sales; and Conrad Gerard, managing director of fixed-income sales. Prior to joining Madison Williams, the team was the institutional fixed-income sales and trading group at Sanders Morris Harris Inc. This team is based out of MountainView Securities' Houston, Texas office. Messrs. Sias, Fuchs and Senich are focused on mortgage pipeline hedging and the remaining sales professionals are focused on institutional fixed income. For more information, visit www.mvcg.com.
