Atlantic Bank and Trust has selected Kislak Lending Solutions (KLS), a division of J.I. Kislak Mortgage LLC, to enhance their mortgage offering by providing turnkey loan fulfillment services. “We have recognized a fundamental shift in our business. The changes in the banking climate have made obtaining a mortgage from a community bank like ours very attractive. Working with Kislak Lending Solutions will increase the speed and efficiency of the mortgage process, and allow us to do what we do best, serve our customers, with the peace of mind that all back-end processes are being managed by experts in the mortgage field,” said Neal Arnold, chief executive officer of Atlantic Bank and Trust. Atlantic Bank and Trust, based in Charleston, S.C., has branches in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Savannah, Ga. Due to increased customer interest, the Bank has recently expanded its residential mortgage lending activities. Not wanting to invest hard dollars to develop a world class back office residential mortgage fulfillment department, Atlantic Bank and Trust turned to KLS to provide these services. The Bank’s staff will originate the mortgage, then its underwriters will work with KLS to handle all necessary functions to approve and close the mortgage loan to significantly shorten the entire loan approval process and ensure that all activities are compliant with Federal and state regulations. Additionally, Atlantic Bank and Trust will be able to offer its mortgage customers the widest array of loan programs at the lowest rates through KLS’ turnkey fulfillment program. “For community banks, maintaining a mortgage business has become increasingly difficult with more stringent government regulations and documentation requirements, however, there is a larger demand for mortgage loans from community-based banks than ever before. Kislak Lending Solutions was launched to offer these banks the support they need to provide a mortgage solution for their customers,” said Tom Meyer, chief executive officer of Kislak Lending Solutions and J.I. Kislak Mortgage. Atlantic Bank and Trust will have access to KLS’ proprietary technology solution, underwriting methodology, and document preparation. Atlantic Bank and Trust is the second bank to use the services of KLS. First Bexley Bank in Columbus, Ohio also works with KLS. KLS is a division of J.I. Kislak Mortgage, a direct lender of mortgages. Both J.I. Kislak Mortgage and KLS are part of the Kislak Organization, one of the nation’s oldest and most reputable privately-held firms that specializes in real estate and financial services.
