DartAppraisal.com Partners With McKissock to Launch Online Education for Appraisers

Sep 22, 2010

DartAppraisal.com has announced the launch of Dart Academy, a partnership with McKissock LP to offer online options to appraisers for continuing education and pre-licensing/upgrade purposes nationwide. McKissock LP is a nationally-recognized online provider of appraisal education, with approved courses available in all 50 states and three U.S. territories. "For nearly two decades, DartAppraisal.com has been an AMC committed to appraiser advancement and education," said Darton Case, founder and president of DartAppraisal.com. "We're proud to be one of the first AMCs to offer online continuing education courses for appraisers. Through the launch of Dart Academy on our Web site, we are leveraging our partnership with McKissock for our more than 8,000 appraisers nationwide. Dart Academy creates access to comprehensive real estate education and licensing, readily accessible online through a trusted resource, and available at a discount as well." "We believe that our online services provide an invaluable tool for appraisers who don't have the time to attend a live seminar or simply prefer to learn at their own pace to meet their continuing education requirements," said Tony Thrift, vice president of business relations for McKissock. "We're in contact with the Appraisal Board of each state to ensure that our courses provide information that relates to both national and state-specific laws. We are committed to providing our customers with courses that not only help them complete their renewal requirements, but also help them to expand their knowledge base and augment the skills that they will utilize in their careers as business professionals." Tracey Meldrum will serve as the DartAppraisal.com vendor coordinator overseeing the launch and implementation of Dart Academy. Meldrum was recently added to the team to provide additional resources to the company's expanding appraiser panel. DartAppraisal.com has relied on McKissock for educational services since 1996, when Case himself began updating his continuing education credits both online and in classes through the company. In 2006, as the number of properties in foreclosure mounted, DartAppraisal.com prepared its appraisers in several cities to follow U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) real estate-owned (REO) appraisal guidelines with McKissock by offering a full day course on the subject.
