CitiMortgage Partners With Olin Business School to Conduct Mortgage Industry Research

Nov 30, 2010

Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis and CitiMortgage Inc. are partnering for research projects which will analyze mortgage industry data and identify consumer characteristics and models that will assist in developing business strategies. Members of the Olin faculty and graduate students will conduct the research, which is scheduled to continue through the second quarter of 2011. "Olin is pleased to be working with CitiMortgage on research that will contribute to a better understanding of consumers and how major lenders like Citi can improve services for their customers," said Mahendra Gupta, Olin Dean and the Virgil Professor of Accounting and Management. "These research projects are an important part of our response to the on-going mortgage industry challenges which began in 2007. We need to examine our loan services and consumers' actions to better understand what changes are needed to address future industry fluctuations," said Sanjiv Das, president and chief executive officer of CitiMortgage. "And to accomplish this we are partnering with Washington University, one of the most respected research universities in the world, and Olin Business School, its top-ranked business school."
