Erik Martin Joins Total Mortgage Services as National Sales Manager of the Retail Channel
Total Mortgage Services LLC has announced the promotion of Erik Martin as the company’s national sales manager of its retail channel. Martin brings to this newly-created position 15 years of production, underwriting and operational management experience within the mortgage industry. In his new role, Martin will be responsible for increasing the production and efficiency of the retail channel through recruiting quality production professionals, providing additional training platforms to the sales team, and enhancing the channel’s overall marketing capability—including providing low mortgage rates to consumers. Martin will report directly to John Walsh, president of Total Mortgage, and be based in Milford, Conn.
“As the mortgage industry continues to move forward, the next generation of sales leadership must have a clear understanding of the underwriting process in order to further enhance the lending value chain, mitigate risk and deliver the highest quality loans to investors,” said Walsh. “Erik possesses outstanding mortgage industry credentials that include direct underwriting experience as well as production and mentoring responsibilities. These can be leveraged to accelerate Total Mortgage’s retail channel success and expansion strategy.”
Martin was most recently underwriting manager at Total Mortgage Services, where he was responsible for the oversight of all wholesale and retail channel underwriters. Previously, Martin spent six years as manager/member of Gateway Home Loans LLC, where he led all day-to-day operations, including recruiting, mentoring and marketing. Prior to this position, Martin was director of operations at Access Mortgage Corporation, where he guided the lender from a start-up mortgage broker to a mortgage banker and was responsible for all aspects of business operations and employee management from origination through post-closing.
