Manhattan-based TitleVest, a provider of title insurance and related real estate services, has announced the addition of James Leslie as chief financial officer and Glen Chernick as senior underwriting counsel. Leslie joins TitleVest after five years as an investment banker with The Blackstone Group LP, a global investment and advisory firm, where he advised institutional clients on numerous multi-billion dollar transactions, offering guidance on financial planning and budgeting, cash flow forecasting, strategic and operational planning and capital structure considerations. Prior to Blackstone, Leslie was with the law firm Sullivan and Cromwell LLP. He earned a BA degree from Vassar College and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Chernick joins TitleVest as senior underwriting counsel. He honed his title underwriting experience during his ten years with Chicago Title Insurance Company. Prior to that, Chernick was counsel for the City of New York's Division of Real Estate Services. He has been published in the New York Law Journal and has lectured on title insurance for the New York State Bar Association's Continuing Legal Education Program. He attended Boston University and earned a JD degree from St. John's University. "We are fortunate to attract such high caliber talent in James and Glen," said Bill Baron, president of TitleVest. "The intellectual capital they add will enhance our company and the level of service we are able to offer our clients." For more information, visit www.titlevest.com.
