REMN Adds Tom Conklin as Western Division Sales Manager

Real Estate Mortgage Network Inc. (REMN), a national mortgage lender based in River Edge, N.J., has announced the hiring of Tom Conklin as the company’s western division sales manager. Conklin will be based in San Diego, Calif. and will oversee REMN’s wholesale sales operations as the company continues to grow along the West Coast. Conklin brings REMN nearly 30 years in the mortgage industry, including a start as a loan officer, before transitioning to sales manager and vice president positions for companies such as North American Mortgage Company, Washington Mutual and Home Savings of America.
“This is major news for REMN. While we’re licensed to do business in more than 30 states, our operations have traditionally been located on the east coast. This gives REMN a presence for wholesale on the west coast, an area we really feel has great potential,” said Joe Amoroso, REMN’s national director of wholesale sales. “Bringing Tom onboard was a major coup for us as well. He’s an industry veteran, well known in the region and strongly believes in REMN’s customer-centric way of doing business.”
Outside of the office, Conklin likes to spend his free time surfing, deep sea fishing, playing baseball (he went to Colorado State University on a baseball scholarship) and is a frequent competitor in San Diego’s annual Over the Line softball tournament. Conklin is a regular contributor of both time and money to the United Way and is a member of the San Diego Association of Mortgage Brokers, California Association of Mortgage Professionals and the National Association of Mortgage Professionals. Both he and his wife are second generation San Diegans.
“The last few years have been tough for mortgage professionals, especially in California. Those of us that have stayed with it know the only way to succeed in the long term is by being honest, doing quality work and understanding of the needs of our customers," said Conklin. "REMN embodies all of these attributes and I can’t wait to help them grow on this side of the country."
