May 23, 2011

Shore Financial Services Inc. has announced the hiring of David Hall as president of its expanding retail mortgage division and will integrate his mortgage lending company, Hall Financial Corporation, into Shore Financial. Shore Financial Services' Chief Executive Officer Kip Kirkpatrick made the announcement. Robert Rahal, immediate past president of the retail mortgage division, is being promoted to the position of vice chairman of Shore Financial, with responsibility for strategy and product development. Within the past six weeks, Shore Financial Services Inc. has also named financial services executive Kirkpatrick its chief executive officer and Michael Jones its chief financial officer. Kirkpatrick, a successful investor in highly regulated industries, is focused on building Shore Financial's resources and national presence. "After a nationwide search to fill this vital position, we strongly felt that David Hall is a proven, highly respected executive whose leadership in retail matches our prominence in wholesale lending," said Kirkpatrick. "With this appointment and the integration of Hall Financial Corporation into our firm, Shore Financial continues its series of bold steps designed to capitalize on opportunities in the mortgage lending industry." Hall, who has nearly 15 years experience as a senior executive in the mortgage industry, emphasizes the unique nature of the opportunity he sees in joining Shore Financial. "My passion is to combine strong product offerings with exceptional personal service to customers," Hall said. "As a national leader with outstanding infrastructure and financial resources, Shore Financial offers an unprecedented opportunity to put that philosophy into action and set a new standard for the industry. Joining Shore Financial was an opportunity I simply could not pass up." Hall noted that he will be looking to recruit and retain additional talent and grow the organization in Michigan. "This new chapter in my career is very exciting and I look forward to re-energizing the industry and commit to major growth in all areas of our business," Hall said. Hall also noted that he is joining an already strong management team at Shore Financial. In addition to Hall and Jones, the senior team reporting to Kip Kirkpatrick now includes Mat Ishbia, president of United Wholesale Mortgage; Kathy Welty, Shore Financial's chief operating officer; and Rahal, immediate past president of Shore Mortgage. "During a period of rapid industry change, Shore Mortgage has taken advantage of its opportunities and is now positioned for even greater growth," Rahal said. "I look forward to working with David as he brings his energy and enthusiasm to Shore Mortgage's business going forward." Hall's previous experience includes eight years as senior vice president of one of the largest mortgage lenders in the country. He's also been recognized as one of Crain's Detroit Business's "40 Under 40." From 2000 through 2007, Hall hosted the nationally syndicated radio program, "The Real Estate Insiders." The show was one of the leading real estate radio programs in the nation, reaching listeners in 35 cities across the country. A native of the Detroit metropolitan area, Hall is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
