Russell L. Burdsall Named SVP of BankAtlantic Mortgage Services

BankAtlantic has announced the appointment of Russell L. Burdsall to senior vice president of BankAtlantic Mortgage Services. In his new role, Burdsall will develop and implement strategies to increase mortgage production and profitability. In addition, Burdsall will be hiring loan officers to support BankAtlantic’s retail branch network. “Russell is truly a seasoned veteran banker with a distinguished track record of highlighted recognitions including managing several mortgage production channels to record production and profitability. His background, experience, and hands-on working knowledge of the mortgage business will make him an ideal fit for our franchise,” said Jarett Levan, chief executive officer of BankAtlantic. “We are very pleased to welcome Russell to the BankAtlantic team.” Burdsall’s career spans more than 20 years in the financial services industry. He has a proven track record in sales management in the mortgage banking industry, and in depth experience in developing and implementing strategic plans to optimize production and productivity for multiple origination and distribution channels. Previous assigned production channels had annual originations in excess of $13 billion of mortgage loan products and another $800 million in Auto/RV/Boat loan products. Burdsall’s accomplishments include managing multiple business units, support teams and service centers with staffing levels reaching approximately 800 associates.
