HOPE LoanPort Names New President and CEO

Aug 31, 2011

HOPE LoanPort has announced that Cam T. Melchiorre will assume the role of president and chief executive officer. Melchiorre led the HOPE NOW Alliance Technology Committee that resulted in the creation of HOPE LoanPort and has served as a member of the board of directors since its inception. Melchiorre will replace Larry Gilmore, co-founder of HOPE LoanPort, and president and CEO since 2009, who has stepped down to pursue other opportunities. "Cam brings extensive mortgage servicing and technology solutions management experience to the job of CEO," said Bill Longbrake, chairman of the board for HOPE LoanPort. Most recently, Melchiorre served as senior vice president of loss management for Radian Guaranty Inc. At Radian, he was responsible for loss mitigation activities, business systems management, default servicing strategy, default analytics, servicer relationship-management, industry communications and training. He also served as GSE/government liaison. Melchiorre has also held several executive roles for LandAmerica Lender Services, MSTD Inc. (a software development company and creators of BackInTheBlack, which was sold to LandAmerica) and Freddie Mac, where he was a charter member of the Freddie Mac Servicer Advisory Board which developed the Freddie Mac Servicer Performance Profiles, the industry's first such metrics.  "I have been involved with HOPE LoanPort since its birth at the HOPE NOW Alliance, and I am excited to have the opportunity to take this important 'public utility' to the next level," said Melchiorre. "We have just barely tapped into the potential of what this tool can do for the mortgage industry, the non-profit counseling community and communities nationwide."
