Greenlight Taps Michael Petree to Lead Consumer Direct Division
Greenlight Financial Services has announced that Michael Petree has joined the company as president of the consumer direct mortgage platform, in conjunction with plans to accelerate growth and expansion in 2012. Petree, a well-known leader in the financial services industry, brings more than 28 years of experience executing strategies that have driven firms to grow rapidly. His vision of blending innovative products with best-in-class customer service and technology has fostered a track record of leading top financial services companies to achieve new levels of success. He also served on the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Board of Directors that created the technology platform standard for the industry, Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO).
“Michael offers Greenlight the vision and strategic planning to take the company to an even higher level of success,” said Joann Pham, chief executive officer of Greenlight. “His passion will not only allow us to seize the current low rate environment, but also drive our efforts to diversify our product offerings to prepare for the future.”
Upon joining the company, Petree announced that in order to accommodate the current rate of growth Greenlight is seeking to add 500-plus employees by the end of 2012, reaching a total of more than 1,000 employees in their Irvine, Calif. offices. New positions will include Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)-licensed loan agents, processors, reverse mortgage professionals, underwriters and funders, including management and growth opportunities. The expansion has led to the company increasing the size of its Irvine offices, including securing the top two floors in their building.
“I am very excited to join the Greenlight family," said Petree. "They have an outstanding, well-earned brand and they have developed a culture of excellence that genuinely focuses on the customer. The company is so well-positioned to leverage their impressive growth and execute a forward-looking expansion strategy that will propel the company beyond the current market.”
To give experienced mortgage professionals an opportunity to meet company executives and managers, Greenlight will be hosting a mixer on Thursday, Feb. 9 at Prego Ristorante, located at 18420 Von Karman in Irvine, Calif., from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. The mixer will give interested professionals an inside look at the passion and support that drives Greenlight’s growth and strategic vision for the future.
“There is such an energy of teamwork and excitement at Greenlight,” Petree said, “I’m honored to have the opportunity to fuel this culture. The mixer will allow professionals who might be looking for something different to be able to interact with our team in an informal setting, and learn about who we are.”
