Maureen Stewart to Lead Mortgage Compliance Services at NewOak

NewOak has announced the appointment of Maureen Stewart as managing director of mortgage credit and compliance Services. Stewart joins NewOak with more than 30 years of experience at major banking institutions across consumer mortgage loan products, including credit underwriting and review, quality control, credit policy management, vendor oversight, acquisition due diligence, distressed asset review, repurchase review/defense and strategic planning. Most recently,  Stewart was a senior audit manager for Bank of America. She managed teams of underwriters in multiple locations, and was charged with reviewing loans to determine the validity of the investor’s claim and afterward, identifying, researching and preparing the appropriate response and defense. Stewart holds an MBA in banking and finance from Pace University, and a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Rochester. “The acute need for well-designed, independent and transparent mortgage credit and compliance services is well recognized throughout the industry," said Ron D’Vari, chief executive officer and co-founder of NewOak.
