CTAMB Evolves Into New Connecticut Mortgage Association

Jul 18, 2012

The Connecticut Association of Mortgage Brokers (CTAMB), a state affiliate of NAMB—The Association of Mortgage Professionals, has changed its name to the Connecticut Mortgage Association (CMA), unveiling a new name, logo and Web address to match its expanded mission. “CTAMB has proudly honored and supported the mortgage brokerage profession for years in the Constitution State,” said CMA President Christopher Aniskovich. “But as the mortgage world has evolved, the association needs to evolve with it.” The new CMA is the only trade group to reach out to all professionals involved in mortgage origination. “Our concern is with loan origination—making sure that consumers have the best choices available, that transactions are handled with professionalism, and that there is responsibility all along the process,” said Aniskovich, president of Branford, Conn.-based Security Financial Mortgage Corporation. “This association is supportive of the involvement of everyone who has a stake in making sure there is a viable lending environment for consumers who want to fulfill their dreams of homeownership.” The association recently hired Agility Resources Group LLC of West Hartford, Conn. to manage and grow the organization. Agility CEO Vincent Valvo will serve as executive director of the new Connecticut Mortgage Association. “We see tremendous opportunities to connect the community of loan originators at brokerages, banks, credit unions and mortgage companies. And not just with each other, but also with consumers, Realtors, lending service companies and more,” said Valvo. “At all levels, there’s a need for education, for networking, and for vigilance that the mortgage markets remain healthy and free to support our state’s housing industry.” Valvo is a long-time participant in the Connecticut real estate industry. He previously served as group publisher and editor-in-chief of The Warren Group, a real estate and mortgage information firm.
