Carol Galante, Fred Thompson and Jared Bernstein Among Those Scheduled for NRMLA Annual Meeting

Sep 12, 2012

The National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA) has announced the lineup of speakers for its “Reverse Mortgage Roundup,” the association's 2012 Annual Meeting & Expo, to be held Oct. 15 -17 in San Antonio, Texas. Acting FHA Commissioner Carol Galante will deliver the keynote address, while former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson (R-TN) and former White House Economist Jared Bernstein will present views of the upcoming presidential election and its impacts. Other featured speakers include Ginnie Mae President Ted Tozer, HUD Deputy Assistant Secretary Charles Coulter (attending his first NRMLA event), and Texas Tech financial planning researcher John Salter. NRMLA’s 2012 Annual Meeting & Expo will present exciting new opportunities that have developed the past few years, as the reverse mortgage industry continues to attract interest from new constituencies, including financial planners, academic researchers, and builders. “The name of this year’s event is not just based on its Texas location,” said NRMLA President and CEO Peter Bell. “It reflects our intent to expand our vision and our market by corralling all these new stakeholders in our industry under one roof. The Reverse Mortgage Roundup is your chance to speak with our industry colleagues, HUD officials, and also professionals in related fields. It is an opportunity for us to come together, learn from the experts and from each other, and plan for the most successful path forward as we provide the highest level of service to America’s seniors.”   NRMLA’s annual meeting and expo is the largest gathering of reverse mortgage professionals each and every year. Participants will have access to an exhibition hall featuring information from wholesale lenders, technology providers, title insurers, and other third-party vendors.
