HOPE NOW to Bring Hurricane Sandy Assistance to Long Island Area

HOPE NOW, a partnership of mortgage firms, insurance companies, non-profit housing counselors and local partners, has announced that on Saturday, Dec. 15, it will bring together homeowners in the Long Island region to help clean up their lives and get back on track after the damage caused to properties Islandwide from Hurricane Sandy. From 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Joseph M. Barry Career and Technical Education Center in Westbury, N.Y., HOPE NOW will present the opportunity for distressed homeowners to meet with insurance agents face to face and help begin the road to recovery. Mortgage servicers will also be on hand to discuss mortgage insurance (MI) and what needs to be done in order to take advantage of disaster relief programs. Also on hand will be U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) non-profits who will discuss and provide housing assistance tools and additional disaster relief options.  Attendees are asked to bring along their monthly mortgage statement, info about other mortgages on the home, documentation of all income and all property insurance documents.  The Joseph M.
