rel-e-vant Solutions has announced that Principal Consultant Elizabeth Green has been elected to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s MISMO Residential Governance Committee. The Governance Committee is responsible for administering the day-to-day standards development activities of MISMO—the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization, a non-profit subsidiary of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). The Committee is also responsible for promoting adoption of MISMO standards, for leading educational initiatives and for developing strategic partnerships with other standards organizations. “Our industry faces unprecedented regulatory oversight and economic challenges,” Green said. “I hope to bring renewed focus to the importance of organizational infrastructure vital to ensuring that MISMO volunteers are successful in their work to bring forward the use of MISMO in a broader range of business needs.” Green has been involved with MISMO since 2009. She has served as chair of its Property & Valuation Services Workgroup since 2010, belongs to its Education and Marketing sub-committees, and is an active participant in its Core Data Structures Workgroup. Green has been an active contributor in the development of the MISMO Version 3 data standards which, among other benefits, consolidate all previous electronic document structures into a single, comprehensive specification that can be used for all transactions across all mortgage process areas. Green plans to continue to work with all of these groups while serving her term on the Governance Committee. “I firmly believe that data standards are critical for the mortgage industry to meet the challenges of improved transparency and compliance in the highly risk averse landscape of the post-Dodd-Frank era,” Green said.
