SL Capital Names Lisa DeMarco as Its New VP

Commercial real estate finance professional Lisa DeMarco has joined SL Capital as a vice president in the firm's Miami office. DeMarco will be responsible for credit underwriting and loan originations. SL Capital is an exclusive correspondent of Cantor Fitzgerald Commercial Real Estate (CCRE) and is focused on originating Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) loans for owners of commercial real estate.
“We are happy to welcome Lisa to our team,” said Constantine Scurtis, SL Capital co-chairman and CEO. “She is a talented commercial real estate finance professional and her background in CMBS is a big plus in helping us build our business.”
Prior to joining SL Capital, DeMarco worked for the LYND Company. Working out of LYND’s Miami office, underwrote multifamily acquisition opportunities with a focus on non-performing notes and value-add assets. DeMarco previously worked as a senior associate in the CMBS Due Dilligence and Valuation Practice at Duff & Phelps in New York City. There, she underwrote more than $6 billion in CMBS loans encompassing various collateral types including retail, office buildings, industrial properties, multifamily, and hotels. Additionally, DeMarco provided commercial real estate appraisals and quarterly portfolio valuations on behalf of major hedge funds and private equity firms.
DeMarco began her real estate career as an analyst intern for JOSS Realty Partners and PBS Real Estate in New York City, a real estate investment management and commercial brokerage firm. While at JOSS and PBS, DeMarco focused on office acquisitions ranging from $10 million to $100 million, prepared offering memoranda for private equity investors and provided asset management support for JOSS’ portfolio. She also provided market research for commercial brokers at PBS Real Estate.
