Robert D. Broeksmit has been named managing director of Treliant Risk Advisors. A senior finance professional with an extensive career in the mortgage sector, Broeksmit is a past president of the B.F. Saul Mortgage Company subsidiary of Chevy Chase Bank, a former vice president at Prudential Home Mortgage, and chairman emeritus of both the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Residential Board of Governors and the American Bankers Association’s Mortgage Markets Committee. During his career, he has directed all aspects of lending activities, including marketing, sales, operations, secondary marketing, loan servicing, and default management. He has overseen annual originations of $9 billion, a balance sheet of $10 billion in residential mortgages, and a servicing portfolio of $20 billion.
“This new position will enable me to play a broader role in the firm’s growth and development,” said Broeksmit. “This is a great opportunity for me to contribute to the success of our clients and our firm.”
In his new role, Bob will take a leadership role in managing the firm’s mortgage industry consulting practice.
“The recent issuance of new rules regarding borrowers’ ability to repay their mortgages, servicing standards, and loan originator compensation practices will have a major impact on our clients in 2013 and beyond,” said Mark W. Olson, co-chair of Treliant and former Federal Reserve Board Governor. “Bob’s appointment to our leadership team could not be more timely.”
