Feb 20, 2013

Residential Finance Corporation (RFC) has named David Stein as president of its retail branch division. The appointment is an expansion of Stein’s current role as general counsel. Stein is also a co-founder of Residential Finance, along with Chief Executive Officer Michael Isaacs. In his new role, Stein will lead the continued growth of the company’s thriving branch presence throughout the country. Residential Finance operates in 38 states with 60 branch locations.  Stein is a seasoned veteran in the mortgage business, and has significant experience in real estate, labor and employment law, as well as civil litigation. Previously, he practiced law for private firms in Ohio, and also was an adjunct professor of law at Ohio State University. In his newly expanded role at Residential Finance, Stein will oversee the retail branch division’s operations, including the legal, compliance, licensing, human resources and marketing functions. “David is the natural choice to lead the future growth in the retail branch division,” said Isaacs. “He has a proven ability to guide with vision and authority, and his understanding of the current landscape makes him ideal for the position. As we continue to grow our retail platform, David will provide the leadership to support our branches, while giving them the competitive edge to win business and grow volume." Stein has been instrumental in Residential Finance’s growth since the company’s inception in 1997. He is a nationally recognized speaker on regulatory compliance and banking law and serves as a member of the Advisory Board of Lenders One, and as a task force member of the Mortgage Banking Association (MBA) committee on independent mortgage banking. Commenting on his appointment, Stein said, “Our focus is pure and simple: to deliver excellence in customer service at all our branch locations. By continuing to strengthen our service departments and back office support, we are processing loans with greater consistency, efficiency and speed, ultimately pleasing our customers with optimal results.”
