Real Estate Mortgage Network Inc. (REMN) has announced the opening of their first Akron, Ohio office, and Ohio mortgage industry veteran, Steven Fishman joins REMN in the role of branch manager of the new office. Under Fishman’s direction, this new branch will extend REMN’s nationally-recognized reputation for quality mortgage products and exemplary customer service to homebuyers, builders and real estate professionals in Akron, Cleveland and other Northeast Ohio areas.
While Fishman is knowledgeable in all facets of the mortgage industry, he is also one of the leading renovation lending experts in the Northeast Ohio area. In addition to his role as the Akron office’s branch manager, Fishman is a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator and an Ohio state-approved instructor for renovation lending products.
As a major proponent of renovation lending to help bolster the Akron and Cleveland areas’ housing markets, Fishman regularly sets aside time to educate licensed real estate professionals, contractors, remodelers and home owners on the intricacies associated with renovation lending. Prior to joining REMN, Fishman’s professional experience has included owning and operating his own mortgage brokerage company, which eventually led to his interest and expertise in renovation lending.
“Steven has the entrepreneurial spirit and customer-first mentality that we look for in leaders at REMN," said Brian Poling, Regional Manager for REMN. "Renovation mortgages are taking hold across the country as great tools for helping people remodel existing properties into dream homes. Steve’s expertise in renovation lending and leadership in the local housing industry are going to really help extend REMN’s reputation for excellence across Northeast Ohio."
In business more than 20 years, REMN combines the services of consumer-facing retail branches with those of large-scale wholesale lending and online operations. Last year, REMN opened more than 40 offices across the country, expanding its total number of branches to more than 80. REMN operates six fulfillment centers across the US, in addition to its online consumer direct channel, doing business as FinanceMyHome.com REMN currently employs more than 1,200 associates and closed nearly $5 billion in home loans in 2012.
