Margaret A. Colon Appointed New MBA Chief Administrative Officer
David H. Stevens, president and CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), has announced the appointment of Margaret A. Colon to be MBA’s new chief administrative officer. Colon has more than 30 years experience in strategic planning, business strategy and organizational alignment, as well as operational and financial management. In 2011, she provided consultative services to MBA that led the Senior Management Team through a process that resulted in the creation, Board approval and roll out of the Association’s five year strategic plan.
“Margaret knows MBA and has extensive experience in the real estate finance business,” said Stevens. “She has a long track record of success providing strategic vision and leadership to a wide variety of organizations. Margaret will play a critical role serving MBA members through the further development and execution of MBA’s strategic plan and organizational objectives.”
As MBA’s Chief Administrative Officer, Colon will be responsible for MBA’s Accounting & Finance, Information Technology, Operations, and Strategic Planning functions, as well as oversee MBA’s Opens Doors Foundation.
Since 2006, Colon has been a Trustee of the Inova Health System, a member of its Finance Committee and the current Chair of its Audit and Compliance Subcommittee. Colon also spent 23 years with Freddie Mac in a number of senior executive and management positions, including Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Before Freddie Mac, she was a senior auditor with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells.
