Guaranteed Rate Continues Expansion With New Connecticut-Based Team

Apr 07, 2014

Guaranteed Rate announced that Jim Earl and Linda Maxwell, leaders of a top loan origination team in Connecticut, have been named area managers as part of the company’s planned expansion in the state. Earl and Maxwell, whose team was responsible for more than $300 million in mortgage loan volume in 2013, will be responsible for mortgage loan production in Connecticut. They will also be responsible for recruiting top area loan officers and underwriters along with overseeing more than a dozen local loan officers who joined Guaranteed Rate with them. Earl and Maxwell have worked together as one of the state’s top mortgage lending teams for nearly 15 years. “Jim and Linda are dynamic leaders who will be a catalyst for our continuing growth in the state of Connecticut,” said Terry Baker, Guaranteed Rate’s regional manager for New England. “By combining their unique strengths and mortgage expertise, the team brings a perfect balance and commitment to a high level of service to both customers and referral partners, which fits Guaranteed Rate’s approach to growing the loan origination business.” Guaranteed Rate has grown from their inception in 2000 to become one of the ten largest retail mortgage companies in the U.S., funding nearly $16 billion in loans in 2013 alone. The company has been able to expand successfully to other key markets through a business model that allows top originators to join the company and close more loans faster through Guaranteed Rate’s commitment to technology, pricing, process and support. The company has two offices in Connecticut with additional locations planned in the state, and 16 locations throughout New England. “Linda and I are thrilled to be a part of the Guaranteed Rate team,” said Earl. “The company provides the perfect platform for loan originators to be successful, and will enable us to meet our goal of being the top home purchase loan provider in the state of Connecticut.” Prior to joining Guaranteed Rate, Earl served as branch manager for Mortgage Master Inc. He also previously was a loan manager for Metro Mortgage Company. Earl is involved with numerous volunteer organizations including serving as Connecticut chapter director for House of Heroes. He is also a member of the Southington Rotarians and has coached football at Southington High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Norwich University. He will also serve as senior vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate.
