MBA Names Marcia Davies COO and Peter Grace SVP of Strategy and Member Services
David H. Stevens, president and CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), has announced staff promotions as part of an organizational re-alignment designed to enhance MBA’s effectiveness and strengthen its ability to serve members. As part of the re-alignment, Marcia M. Davies has been promoted to chief operating officer (COO) and Peter J. Grace, has been promoted to senior vice president of strategy and member services, reporting to Davies.
In her new role, Davies, previously chief of staff and senior vice president of external relations, will continue to lead external relations while also assuming a consolidated operational portfolio and will be responsible for ensuring alignment on MBA’s top organizational priorities.
Grace has been at MBA since January 2012 as vice president of strategy and internal technology where he also serves as chief information officer. With his promotion, Grace will also oversee MBA’s member services department, comprising the operations of MBA education, including content development, design and delivery, as well as the association’s membership services function.
“Marcia has an impressive track record of results and plays a critical role in managing MBA’s high-profile initiatives,” said Stevens. “In this new role, Marcia’s leadership and organizational effectiveness will strengthen operations and bring an overall enhanced member experience to the services we provide."
“Peter has proven skills to manage cross-functional teams that provide exceptional customer service," Stevens added. “I am confident his leadership will enhance our effectiveness as MBA continues to focus on providing best-in-class products and services to its members.”
Prior to joining MBA in 2011, Davies worked at the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), where she served as Senior Advisor to Stevens when he was assistant secretary, Federal Housing Commissioner. Prior to HUD, Davies spent 21 years at Freddie Mac, where she held a variety of officer positions.
Grace came to MBA in 2012, also from HUD, where he served as chief of staff for the acting deputy secretary on matters related to the management of HUD. He also provided leadership on HUD’s Transformation Initiative, a multiyear, multifaceted organizational change program. Prior to joining HUD, he was associate commissioner of the Office of Strategic Planning, Technology and Research at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development and before that worked at Accenture.
