Capsilon Names Ramarao Velpuri VP of Engineering
Capsilon, a provider of cloud-based document and data management solutions for mortgage lenders and investors, has announced that Ramarao Velpuri has joined the Capsilon leadership team as vice president of engineering. Based in Capsilon’s San Francisco headquarters, Velpuri will be responsible for Capsilon’s global engineering team and delivering innovative solutions that change the way mortgage lenders do business.
Velpuri has more than 20 years of experience as a software development leader, with a focus on enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS). Prior to joining Capsilon, he served as vice president with CA Technologies, where he managed global product development, led SaaS delivery and multi-tenant architecture at the application and database level, and built the Innovation Center. Velpuri also served as CTO at Kenexa Technologies after Kenexa acquired Oramasters, a startup that Velpuri founded and where he served as CEO. At Kenexa, Velpuri grew the engineering team to more than 300 developers worldwide, and was part of the executive team that grew revenue from $35 million to more than $200 million. Kenexa completed a successful initial public offering (IPO) in 2005, and was acquired by IBM in 2012 for approximately $1.3 billion. Earlier in his career, Velpuri served as executive director at Oracle Corporation, where he authored nine books about the Oracle database.
“Rama knows how to successfully scale and manage innovative engineering teams in high-growth environments, experience that will be critical as Capsilon continues to grow to meet the needs of the mortgage industry,” said Sanjeev Malaney, chief executive officer at Capsilon. “His experience in delivering enterprise SaaS solutions with high availability, and his track record of building and managing global development centers, are an ideal fit for the next phase of Capsilon’s growth.”
