MBA Honors McLean Mortgage President With Burton C. Wood Award

Apr 18, 2016
The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has awarded Thomas S. Dennard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, with the 2018 Commercial Real Estate Finance (CREF) Distinguished Service Award

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has presented its annual Burton C. Wood Legislative Service Award to Nathan Burch, president of McLean Mortgage in Fairfax, Va. The award was presented at MBA's 2016 National Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C. The Award is given annually to an MBA member employee in recognition of his or her sustained superior service to the association and the real-estate finance industry as a whole.

Burch currently sits on the MBA Board of Directors, is a member of the MORPAC Steering Committee, the IMB Executive Council, and serves as MBA’s Ambassador to Virginia where he has been extremely active in various grassroots efforts.

"Nathan has made a huge impact on MBA's advocacy accomplishments at both the state and federal level over the last several years," said MBA Chairman Bill Emerson. "His determination, participation and success in elevating our key advocacy goals are just a few reasons as to why he is so deserving of this Award."

The Award is named after the late MBA Legislative Counsel Burton C. Wood, who devoted more than 30 years of service to MBA's advocacy efforts, and passed away in 2010. Wood was the first recipient of the award in 1990, and his lobbying skills gained the respect and attention of both Republicans and Democrats alike.
