With Father’s Day on the near horizon, Realtor.com decided to mix residential property and paternal pride with a new list celebrating the best father-friendly housing markets

With Father’s Day on the near horizon, Realtor.com decided to mix residential property and paternal pride with a new list celebrating the best father-friendly housing markets.

What constitutes a father-friendly housing market? Combining the needs of stay-at-home dads with typical guy stuff, Realtor.com weighed such factors as the number of support groups for fathers and babysitters under the age of 12 with the number of gyms, major league sports teams and breweries or sports bars.

Topping this new list is Salt Lake City, followed by St. Louis; Green Bay, Wis.; Orlando; Cincinnati; Tampa; Pittsburgh; Atlanta; San Francisco; and Portland, Ore. Now, whether grateful kids will be buying dear old dad a house in Salt Lake City instead of a necktie for Father’s Day remains to be seen.
